What’s a placket?

A literal placket is the strip of fabric on a jacket or a shirt that stylistically hides a row of buttons, or gives access to a pocket.

What does that have to do with HR? Not much. It’s just a really solid word that our founder likes the sound of.

What’s a Placket?

Placket, with a capital P, is the name of our human capital collective that focuses on building the people ops + recruiting functions for our clients: series A and B hypergrowth startups. We consider ourselves a collective, because we are the brain child of several people ops leaders, who are working together toward a common cause: creating kickass workplaces for kickass professionals and eliminating the messiness of “blitzgrowth”.

While we are led by a founder, who does this full time, most of us work ad hoc as contractors as new projects come in. This approach works best for us, as our Associates are able to supplement their career trajectories by working on interesting projects outside of their every day positions. More importantly, this gives us an unlimited scope of people ops experts to tap into in order to best help our clients.
